From the recording Darkness & Light
This song is the rope dangling from up above while you're stuck wading in the water wondering how to get out. It is the offer of hope. A statement that no matter what you are going through - the pain, the sorrow - there is a way out. A way to leave it all behind and look for a new tomorrow. Hebrews 11:1 - Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen
Lyrics
The smile on your face
Is the perfect disguise
But look behind the appearances
And I see the trouble in your eyes
They speak of the hopes and dreams
Slipping further and further away
The beautiful palette of colors
Slowly fading out to grey
You’ve had pain
You’ve had sorrow
Leave it all behind
And look for a new tomorrow
Cause there is hope
There is Love
Gotta set your compass
On the higher road above
Cause there is hope
There is Love
There is Love
There is Love
Set your compass
On the higher road above
A light in the darkness
A faint and flickering flame
Take hold of the future
He's been calling out your name
You’ve had pain
I know you’ve had sorrow
Leave it all behind
Look for a new tomorrow
Cause there is hope
There is Love
There is Love
There is Love
Gotta set your compass
On the higher road above
Cause there is hope
There is Love
There is Love
There is Love
Set your compass
On the higher road above
A light in the darkness
A faint and flickering flame
Take hold of the future
He's been calling out your name
You’ve had pain
I know you’ve had sorrow
Leave it all behind
For a new tomorrow
Cause there is hope
There is Love
There is Love
There is Love
Gotta set your compass
On the higher road above
The Saviour is waiting
He's standing at the door
To take all your burdens
But you gotta make that call
Don't wait 'til tomorrow
If you need Him today
Fill your heart and make a start
Just get on your knees and pray
'Cause there is hope
There is Love
Gotta set your compass
On the higher road above
You know there is hope
There is Love
There is Love
There is Love
Gotta set your compass
On the higher road above
