From the recording Darkness & Light
How often do we go through life chasing dreams, never satisfied, and always dreaming on how the grass must always be "greener on the other side"? So, we change direction - jobs, homes, relationships - always thinking that life is going to be better after the change. It's a lie we gladly devour. What if where you are right now in life is where you are "meant to be"? What if you could make the best of where you already are in life, and really - really shine? Because if you're not satisfied now, will the change actually be a change?
Lyrics
Chasing dreams
But it always seems
That the goalposts move before your eyes
The great divide
Never satisfied
They say it’s better just beyond the rise
The grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (the other side)
You’re chasing dreams
But you're never satisfied
Cause the grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (on the other side)
Greener on the other side
Greener on the other side
Are they tellling you the truth
Or did you find out that they lied
On the other side whoa
On the other side yeah
The grass is always greener
On the other side
You change the play
Chase a brighter day
But it somehow never meets your needs
Keep on trying more
Walk through every door
Instead of grass you just keep sowing weeds
The grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (the other side)
You’re chasing dreams
But you're never satisfied
Cause the grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (the other side)
Greener on the other side
Greener on the other side
Are they telling you the truth
Or did you find out that they lied
On the other side whoa
On the other side yeah
The grass is always greener
On the other side
Maybe where you are
Is where you’re meant to be
You’re bound by dreams
When you could be free
The answer lies
In being who you are
In the light of Love
You’re a shining star
The grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (the other side)
They’re selling you a lemon
And you keep buying the lie
That the grass is always greener (always greener)
On the other side (on the other side)
Greener on the other side
Greener on the other side
Are they tellling you the truth
Or did you find out that they lied
On the other side
On the other side
On the other side
On the other side yeah
On the other side
On the other side
Whoa Yeah
