From the recording Life Support
I once worked for a woman who had experienced a tragic loss in her life. For a brief moment, she actually opened up to me about what had happened, but that vulnerability was very, very short lived. She held a lot of resentment and bitterness about what she had been through personally, and generally lashed out and projected her bitterness onto those around her - both personally and professionally. Her heart was hard as steel, and nothing could or would get through. She was a bitter, hard hearted woman. Proverbs 14:10 "The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy."
Lyrics
Hearts will melt
Blood will boil
We’re all working in the same plot of soil
But you turned out to be a
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
I thought we were friends
We saw eye to eye
But the walls went up and you locked me outside
And you turned out to be a
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Envy bitterness jealousy and strife
These are the fruit when you hold on to your pride
When someone does you wrong do you turn the other cheek
A heart full of forgiveness is a heart that’s truly free
But you turned out to be a
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Your mind’s made up
And there’s no excuse
But did you ever really search for the truth
Cause you turned out to be a
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
Hard hearted woman
