From the recording Life Support
Originally written in 2012, this song is about the falsities and facades we tend to put on for our "public personas", when in reality we are often drowning in insecurity on the inside. You can never judge a book by its cover, and truth is, only God knows the real person behind the facade.
"Maybe I'm all together
And my star is shining bright
Maybe I'm a hollow man
Maybe darkness hides the light"
Lyrics
Maybe I'm a legend
Maybe you think I'm cool
Maybe it's a masquerade
And I’m really just a fool
Maybe I'm a magnet
Attracting shiny nails
Maybe I'm just successful
At everything that fails
Maybe I'm all together
And my star is shining bright
Maybe I'm a hollow man
Maybe darkness hides the light
Maybe I have answers
Maybe I'm a saint
Maybe it's all just clever lies
And I’m covered in fancy paint
Maybe I'll get to heaven
Maybe I'll burn in hell
Maybe I have assurances
Only time will tell
