This song is personal. After nearly losing my life in my medical dramas of 2024, I was personally confronted with an undeniable truth. Life has an end. And we don't know what direction the journey is going to take us to get there.
We all know the truth. It's going to happen. For all of us. But we don't talk about it. We don't prepare. We try and put off the inevitable and live in denial while we can. Surround ourselves with stuff. Until we find one day that it confronts us face to face. Sometimes a lot sooner than we think. Nothing lasts forever. So what remains?
If the track "Nothing To Me" is from God's point of view that we keep putting our trust and effort into things that don't matter at all to Him, then this song approaches the same subject matter but from a human standpoint.
Everything we have, everything we do has a time limit. We don't know the future. We don't know the journey. We don't know when the ground will shake beneath us and everything we built tumbles to the sand. We don't know when it all ends. So what remains? Where do you put your trust?
