From the recording I Believe
This is one of my favourites. Through all the chaos, the instability, the strife, the hate, this song is a call to arms. A call to stand up. We've got to stop perpetuating the lies. Stop picking at the glue that holds us together and find a way that will get us through. No more agendas. No more pretenders. No more deception. It is a call to Love, because that is the only thing that is going get us through in the face of this onslaught..
Lyrics
We’re so tired
It’s so hard
Barren ground
A graveyard
We don’t see
Eye to eye
But it shouldn’t mean
That it’s goodbye
It's time we tried to get things started
To find a way that will get us through
Yeah it's been a while since love departed
And still we're picking at the glue
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
No agendas
No pretenders
No signing up with strings attached
No deception
Or preconception
A love the world can never match
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
There’s only One who knows the sorrows
There’s only One who understands it all
There’s only One who sees tomorrow
He’s there if you wanna make the call
We can't agree
Or tolerate
A different view
We consume the bait
White or black
Left or right
We all bleed red
In the fight
It's time we tried to get things started
To find a way that will get us through
Yeah it's been a while since love departed
Yet we're still picking at the glue
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
No agendas
No pretenders
No signing up with strings attached
No deception
Or preconception
A love the world can never match
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
We need love whoa
We need love oh yeah
Son of God the man of sorrows
Son of Man who understands it all
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
He waits for you to make the call
There's no agenda
He's no pretender
No signing up with strings attached
No deception
Or preconception
Hey a Love the world can never match
We need His love whoa
We need His Love oh yeah
We need His Love whoa
We need His Love oh yeah
We need His love
