From the recording I Think I Like You.
This song is kind of the second part to "What We're Living For", in that it is asking the same sort of questions. Seeing through hollow lies and starting a journey, knowing that there must be more.
No longer trusting the status quo. No longer wanting to play games, and realising that change starts with owning up and taking responsibility to make a start, renew the heart, and break the chains that have been holding you back. I am a work in progress. Don't give up on me.
Lyrics
You tell me that you love me
As you look me in the eyes
But I just don’t see the evidence
All I see is lies
I’m over it
I'm so over it
My heart is nearly empty
Worn out and oh so tired
I’ve been running round in circles
I need to be rewired
I’m over it
Ooh babe I'm over it
I'll make a change, make a start
It’s time for me to renew my heart
Break these chains, set me free
Please don't you give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Each new day is just the same
I'm spinning round and playing games
Nothing happens and it’s so insane
There's no one else but me to blame
You say you know your way round here
But you took me for a ride
You sold my soul for full control
With all the tricks you tried
I’m over it
I’m so over it
I'll make a change, make a start
It’s time for me to renew my heart
Break these chains, set me free
Please don't you give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Each new day is just the same
I'm spinning round and playing games
Nothing happens and it’s so insane
There's no one else but me to blame
I'll make a change, make a start
It’s time for me to renew my heart
Break these chains, set me free
Please don't you give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
Let's break it down
Time to turn around
My head is bowed
I’m on my knees
Break these chains
Set me free
Don't give up on me
Don't give up on me
