Whoa. This one is an emotional ride. So much so that I released it on its own as a single.
The lyric actually came together in a couple of hours after seeing a post from a friend suffering from Cancer and completing her chemo regime. She posted on facebook after taking a "time out" walk - sans hair, sans makeup - and feeling quite raw and emotional. Endless stares from strangers, and feeling very alone and vulnerable.
This song came out of that feeling of someone who has been going through the mountains and valleys of a life altering journey, and having that overwhelming need for someone to be by their side through it all.
Whilst not cancer, I had in some ways been on a similar journey myself, which is why I think I was able to channel my own emotion into writing the song. Have the tissues handy.
