From the recording Freshman 61
The original of this song was on the 1st album "Gotta Start Somewhere". This is the updated version - a little more dance-y, and added the "shine shine shine" bridge. Still don't know which version I prefer! I do like them both...
Lyrics
I hear of your fashions
And late night passions
But it really doesn’t influence me
You party on
‘Til the night is almost gone
Thinking maybe this will set you free
I’ll tell you something it doesn’t last
Next morning sees you out cold on the floor
I hear you say that life is so great
But is it really life at all?
Let love shine
Let it inside
Open up your heart
It could renew your life
Let love shine
Let love shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let it Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let Love Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let it Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let Love Shine
Let love shine
Let it inside
Open up your heart
It could renew your life
Let love shine
Let love shine
You see the stars
Dance moves and big guitars
They’re strutting all around the stage
And you know their lives
Are full of compromise
They can’t live to what it is they say
But that’s no reason why you can’t change
I know you’ve been hurt before
Don’t you see life can be so much better
If you’d just open up the door
Let love shine
Let it inside
Open up your heart
It could renew your life
Let love shine
Let love shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let it Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let Love Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let it Shine
Shine Shine Shine
Let Love Shine
Let love shine
Let it inside
Open up your heart
It could renew your life
Let love shine
Let love shine
Let love shine
Let love shine
