Similar to "The Water Was Deep", this explores the theme of being lost in a world that doesn't know how to show or practice love, and yet the answer is there. Not with an agenda, not pushing a political view, but simply holding out His hand, waiting for you to take it so that He can lift us out of the muck and mire we find ourselves in.
The lyric was originally written in 1986. I actually submitted it (along with a number of others) into the international "Music City Song Festival" in 1989, and it came back with either a top 10% or top 25 placing (I can't remember which as I have somehow misplaced the certificates in our move to the Gold Coast!). Either way, I was pretty chuffed at the time! Now tell me, why did I not continue pursuing music & songwriting for so many years???
