From the recording Gotta Start Somewhere
This song came from a season of angst. There are times when you are in the "in between". Those times where you are drifting, unsure of where you are, where you are going, or even how you got there. It presents so many questions, and it is often so hard to find the answers.
Wrestling with inner conflicts and still searching for something more. And all you get back is silence.
Growing up and finding yourself, finding your voice and finding your place can be a hard and painful journey for some, and sometimes the deeper questions take a long time to be answered.
Lyrics
I thought I heard you whisper
So familiar long ago
Many years driving aimless
Still somehow I need to know
Are you there?
Can you hear my voice?
Do you care?
Do I have a choice?
Are you there?
Somehow now my heart is harder
The warmth has turned to cold
I am no longer who I am
I bought the lies they sold
Are you there?
Can you hear my voice?
Do you care?
Do I have a choice?
Are you there?
Yet it seems
no matter how far I go
you’re somehow with me
but tell me how do I know
Are you there?
Can I hear Your voice?
Do you care?
Do I have a choice?
Are you there?
